The painter Jitoma Sofiame was born in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and raised inside the country, graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, has made over 30 solo and group exhibitions in Bogotá, Caracas, Miami and Washington, Professor of Fine Arts and winner of numerous awards: First national painting prize Girardot 1962, first prize Inter Hall Armando Reveron, Caracas 1977, first American Living Award for Painting, Miami, 1990.
